Remembering, and abit about me and family!
Dear Diary, By the way I hang out side, love the fresh smell, wash my dishes by hand and let them air dry. When I think about when I was a kid on the farm how did gramma do it, we had no electric, no running water, wood stove to heat, cook and heat our water for dishes and our baths, grandpa milked cows with his hands, churned our own butter to sell, collected rain water to wash clothes and at that time thought nothing about what we missed as we didn't know what we missed and were quite happy. Had family gathering, gramma played piano while we sang along, neighbors helping each other with crops. Wekids used our imagination more as we played, and we played hard, even made up games, got more outside exercise, had to work hard to get what we wanted, no one gave it to us, had responsibilities, respect for others, took care of our elder family, as grandpa had always said charity begins at home. What happened, now we are so dependent on Ele. computers, don't care to know or help your neighbours and the kids have lost respect, no all, but you know where I'm coming from and the list goes on, of course we had our problems, always well no matter where or when... we've lost all the wander of the world around us, and the people helping people, should I go on. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate today, but miss the simpler times. At last I have my memories! Hugs Deanie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beth,Beth our Queen, you wanted to know eight things about about me ~~~ 1.- Married at the age of 18, hubby was 21, be 51 years in Sept. 8, 2007. ~~~ 2.- Have been blessed with four children, three girls and one boy, now adults. ~~~ 3.- have ten grandchildren, two through marriage, seven girls and three boys, three great grandchildren, two girls and one boy. ~~~ 4.- Have two cats, Sticky and Bonkers in doors and my teacup poodle Snickers. ~~~ 5.- Live in the country here in 1969 be 38 years, we love the Country living, moved out of city living in 1964 when our last child was three. Always rented a house till 1969 when we purchased our first home, lots of play area and woods for kids to use their imaginations. ~~~ 5. We had chickens, pigs, ducks, a pony, a sheep, geese and many out side cats and always had a dog, plus pet mice, hamsters, fish. Large garden that we all attended to. I canned, froze, pickled, baked cooked meals with the help of family. ~~ 6.- I love to crochet, but can't as much now as my wrist and arm had had the carpol, so do a little at a time, not like I used to hours on end. Some Crafts, as I used to belong to home bureau, ceramics, did abit of sewing when kids were home. ~~~ 7.- I love getting together with friends, shopping, going to lunch, parties, just getting together as couple also is fun. The sad thing is I have lost (Two Best friends) in the last four years, where we should of growed old together, but we have no say in that. In the last years here we have lostmany friends, hanging on to our young friends, lol. Some move away to other states. Husband retired and we do things together more, as before me busy raising kids and he had his own business to run, alot of hours he put in. Was like we got acquainted again and back to two of us, now we go throughhealth problems together, that's what the Golden age does, lol. Instead of me doing the big Holiday meals as have done many years, the kids do it now, taking turns at there homes, a real treat for me. ~~~ 8. Well to sum it up as I got rather lengthy, tells you I am a talker, lol, God loving, love people, friendly, caring, sensitive, love to be and with humorus people. A good laugh is good for the soul, helps keep our sanity intune and to get through what ever problems we have to indure. ~~~ I would like to add, pleaseprayfor ourgrandsonwho is back in hospital, he had kidney stones removed a few weeks ago and a week later had the worst kidney infection that could be fatal, Dr said. He was in a very bad accident when he was 17, now 27, paralyzed chest down. He was always getting these infections, but this time bad, if he hadn't got to the hospital when he did could of lost him as we have so many times before. They put him on anibotics, then a mistake was made and someone gave him a different aniboticnotthe one hewason, and effected him like he was drugged, like drunk, at first he didn't know who or what of any thing. By the time we got there he was slowly coming out of it and knew us. He was in a laughing mood, didn't know day or year or count backward. I did make a joke with him like what did you do go out last nite and get drunk, he laughed and liked that, but doubtful he will remember any of this. A few days later he felt better and they let him go home, next day back in with breathing problems, found he had a blood clot in his leg, on blood thinners, not good and still has infection, this is so stressfull for the family, should of kept him. I pray all goes well, I miss my e-mail buddy. He has so many friends and even took his drivers test and passed, was and is waiting for a van to be equipted for him to drive. I pray that he'll come home and his dream to drive will be honored. Thank you for askingBeth. I know I over did, oh well thats me! ~~~~ ( P.S. I also worked for Social services taking care of a friend who had a stroke, not only cared for her but helped with her speech therapy and physical therapy, was very rewarding learned alot about strokes, also treated her with dignity, as I would like to be cared for. When my husband had a stroke about thirteen years ago, I was prepared for the worse, but thank God he came out of it as a slight stroke, left very little side effects, he just cannot bowl any more like he did, so he is in to playing cards with his card buddies, Euchre, that's his game, sometimes plays two to three times aweek. Still fighting prostate cancer as the radiated seeds didn't work, using the hormone shots to get count done and then they will decide what to do there. Like I said we're in this together with both our health problems.)~~~ The tag end's here as I see every one I know were already tagged, if notshare 8 things about you!
